So now for some real train set building ! The tracks were roughly laid in place to
enable the cut out in the board for the under-bridge to be made. Then, the tracks went down, weathered and the
testing took place. The inner circle
needed some adjustment due to the tightness of the curves and some bogie coaches
not being able to traverse them.
About half a day of soldering dropper wires onto the tracks
at various locations, and connecting them together underneath and running back
to the control panel and we are ready for a ‘proper’ test, or at least that is
how I prefer to call it rather than ‘playing trains’ !
In total, I suspect 30-40 hours were spent on wiring alone,
and to give an indication, I took a picture at around a third of the way
through with the track wiring and point motors in place.
