This followed a similar
construction pattern to the station building although having fewer walls and
window apertures, took a little less time to complete. The doors were scratchbuilt from plasticard,
having had the surface scored to produce ‘planks’ and a light sandpapering to
produce a timber effect. The wooden
office on the side is the rear extension from a Dapol engine shed kit!
The basic shell, in
the approximate position on the layout to gauge the sense of proportions.

The finished building, dressed with various goods awaiting shipment, men working and a glow from the light inside (which helps high-light the figures and the scene in general).
