Welcome to ‘blog’, in which I will explain my modelling experiences and hope that by sharing will help or inspire others!
I am what I would describe as an average modeller, I have a full time job not related in any way to the modelling world, I do not belong to any club or society and I find that modelling offers the escapism from every day life and pressures and into another dimension where self-satisfaction from building and operating model trains particularly, is extremely rewarding.
I used to build layouts and rip them up, as they never seemed to reach the standards of what is shown in the model press and so often seen at exhibitions. It was after a visit to an exhibition that my partner suggested that my models were at an equal or even better standard to that we had seen that made me think that maybe I am too critical of my own work, and it is all too easy to concentrate on the errors rather than the successes of what I had built!
Over these pages I hope to offer a combination of ideas, inspiration and progress of models ‘On My Work Bench’.
